It's a bit harder to start than using the Bargir and Hindu Musketeers - and of course on the first turn, you have to toss almost half your military, but it's already turned into a bloodbath by turn 9. but they need to be turned to melee only at the beginning of battles). I've started a new campaign of Marathas - considered one of the easiest nations, almost on par with GB, but I'm using a special restriction of no gunpowder units (exceptions being boats and can own generals, which I didn't notice until I started were actually a gunpowder unit. I actually did not complete the campaign due to a bug that made the game crash the moment I landed any troops in GB, but I had "significant" forces ready and waiting on boats just off their coast and they were the last obstacle. Honestly, I have a feeling that the Ottomans would be more difficult. I believe I held off on attacking UP for quite some time in that campaign because they are allied with GB and it's a great way to get your sea trade econ cut down quickly.

Also, their economy blows since they spend most of the first 10-15 turns with virtually no overseas trade and poor access to the seas - especially with the military action that goes on around Sweden and Denmark. Prussia starts off surrounded by big enemies, with lots of units and an emphasis on spamming recruitment. After a fairly easy 100%WD run with UP, I went for what was considered more difficult rather than going for a faster run. Prussia is one of the harder nations for a speed run. If I recall correctly, they didn't keep it for long. Given the state of my ownings and the buildings therein, I believe I offered them West Prussia (taken on turn 1) for peace, which they had already 2 turns of construction nearly complete.

Presumably this was to free up troops for the 1.5 stacks in Vienna, which I did defeat that turn (documented at the time in the thread). At that point, I was at peace with Poland. At that point, I also had Warsaw - which I believe I took around turn 3-4, but checking my savegame revealed something amusing. I had Vienna on turn 6 and their back was broken. Austria takes a bit of time to get rid of in the early stages because they spam so many soldiers so fast. I think you can expand to 5 or 6 from the starting 2 regions on turn 1. Prussia can actually accomplish quite a bit in turn 1. I had 27 regions at that point and was expanding by around 1-2 per turn. I managed to scrounge up a turn 29 savegame and a turn 6.

It is inevitable that others will come and do it faster than me. My fastest so far for that was winter 1738 with Prussia. My guess is that it's possible to get it done before 1730 if you didn't go completionist for your buildings. And I always like to see if I can get France's feather in the cap with L'Arc de Triomphe or at least close to it. I'd rather wait the extra couple of turns for my enemies to build up their buildings to a point that I will never be allowed to build. I personally tend towards strategy and trying to build up a lot more than a tooth and nail beatdown. it does indeed involve some serious steamrolling, but the logistics of it become more difficult even in the mid-game. My WD campaigns have always been for 100% WD, which is 137/137. I've never really tried for a "world domination" campaign.
